edX, Coursera Plus and Udemy Personal Plan: Which Learning Account Fits?
Choose a course first, then check the account that opens it. These ready logins differ in catalog access, term and certificate requirements.
On PerkShelf: edX Premium Access (12 Months Account) $4.49
View listingBefore buying a learning account, find the exact course you want and check whether the plan includes it. A year of access is useful only if it opens the course and assessment track you need. All three PerkShelf listings below use a delivered login, so your existing learning history stays on your own account.
Compare the delivery and term
| Listing | Term | Account and first check |
|---|---|---|
| edX Premium, $4.49 | 12 months | Ready edX login with mailbox access; enroll and complete 30 minutes of learning within 30 days |
| Coursera organization access, $39.99 | 1 year | Ready login with a two-factor secret; check the organization's course catalog |
| Udemy Personal Plan, $2.99 | 1 month | Ready login with email access; check that your chosen course is in Personal Plan |
edX: check the course and certificate track
edX's course directory includes university and industry courses across subjects such as computer science, business and languages. Its public directory does not establish that an account labeled Premium unlocks every course or certificate. Check the course's enrollment page and the track available on the delivered account before planning around a credential.
For this twelve-month listing, sign in with the delivered edX email and password, then change the password. Keep the account email unchanged. Enroll in a course and complete at least 30 minutes of learning within 30 days to activate the year. Mailbox credentials are included for verification messages. If the course asks for a separate payment, stop and check your access rather than assuming it is covered.
Coursera Plus versus the organization account
Coursera Plus is Coursera's consumer subscription covering a selection of courses, Specializations and Professional Certificates. Check inclusion on each course page. The PerkShelf product with coursera-plus in its URL is a year of premium access through an organization, on a supplied login. Its catalog is determined by that organization; do not treat it as an upgrade to your personal Coursera account.
The order includes the login and a two-factor secret. Add that secret to an authenticator app for sign-in codes, then browse the organization's catalog. Complete the course's required work for any certificate it offers. If a credential requires identity verification, check that requirement before enrolling.
Udemy Personal Plan: a selected catalog for a month
Udemy Personal Plan is a subscription to a curated course collection with practice activities. Buying an individual Udemy course is a separate way to get ongoing access to that course. A one-month Personal Plan account does not give you permanent ownership of the courses you watch.
Use the delivered mailbox to get the Udemy sign-in code. Change the display name if you need completion certificates in your name, and leave the other account settings unchanged. Check inclusion for the specific course and language you need; Personal Plan does not cover the whole marketplace.
Language practice alongside a course
For daily language lessons, the Super Duolingo Family owner login for a year ($69.99) manages a group rather than a course library. Duolingo's Family plan covers six accounts including the owner. Invite up to five members to use their own profiles and keep their progress. The delivered owner login is separate from your existing Duolingo account, and Super does not include Max's extra AI features.
Pick the account around your course
Open the edX account listing for its activation conditions, or compare Coursera organization access and Udemy Personal Plan if your course is in their catalogs. Confirm any country restrictions on the course or enrollment page; a VPN does not change certificate or identity requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Will these plans upgrade my current learning account?
No. Each listing delivers a separate login. Your current enrollments and certificates do not transfer with the purchase.
Is every certificate included?
No blanket certificate coverage is established for these accounts. Check the course's included track, completion requirements and any identity verification before relying on a certificate for work or study.
Do I have to start the edX course within 30 days?
Yes. This listing requires enrollment and at least 30 minutes of learning within 30 days to activate the twelve-month access.
